The high-speed train had us back in Taipei in no time, and bang on schedule. The fastest trains between Taichung and Taipei take about 47 minutes. Having a few more days in the capital meant we could go back to our favourite districts.
Since leaving Taipei we’d made our way right round the island. We found ourselves talking about how varied it had been, from the cities to the coast and the mountains.
Good to know
- High-speed rail: Taichung to Taipei takes about 47 minutes on the fastest trains and around an hour on the others. A reserved standard seat costs NT$700, or NT$675 unreserved. Taiwan High Speed Rail
