Day 19: Skywalks and Tarantulas

A sunset walk along Bangkok's Makkasan Skywalk as the city lights came on, followed by drinks at the Tarantula Rooftop Bar.

At sunset we walked the Makkasan Skywalk and watched the city change from gold to neon. The covered walkway links the Airport Rail Link at Makkasan with the MRT at Phetchaburi. The rail link opened in 2010 and runs for 28.6km out to Suvarnabhumi Airport, and Makkasan is the stop where it meets the underground.

Then we went for a drink at the Tarantula Rooftop Bar, looking out across Bangkok as the lights came on.

Good to know

  • The skywalk: the covered walkway links the Airport Rail Link at Makkasan with MRT Phetchaburi, so it’s an easy way to change between the two.
