Arrival in Siargao

Landing in Siargao in the Philippines, checking into Camanolo Homestay, wandering the local area over a coffee and booking a trip for the next day.

We flew in to Siargao with the island spread out below the wing. Flights land at Sayak Airport in Del Carmen, and our driver was waiting there to take us to Camanolo Homestay, our base on the island.

Once we’d checked in, we were keen to have a look around, so we set off to wander the local area. Along the way we stopped for a coffee and booked a trip for the next day, which meant our first full day on Siargao was already planned.

Good to know

  • Getting there: flights land at Sayak Airport in Del Carmen. The drive to General Luna, where most people stay, takes 45 minutes to an hour.

We checked these details in October 2026. Times, prices and rules do change, so it’s worth a quick look at the official sites before you go.

See it on film

Most of our trips have a film on YouTube, from puffins on Skomer to the Drake Passage.
