Back in Ushuaia, we had time for one last hike before heading home, up to the viewpoint over the Martial Glacier, known locally as the Mirador del Glaciar.

On 23 November we flew back to Buenos Aires, landing at 8.20pm, and the next day our flight home left at 12.44pm.

The Martial Glacier sits in a nature reserve about 7 km from the centre of Ushuaia, at around 1,000 metres above sea level. It’s a cirque glacier, shaped like a semicircle or amphitheatre. Five marked circuits start from the bottom, and the Mirador del Glaciar circuit takes about 75 minutes, with a climb of 220 metres.
