Next stop was Railay Beach and the Railay Resort and Spa. You can only get to this peninsula by boat, as high limestone cliffs cut it off from the mainland.
The headland has several beaches. Railay West is the main one, Railay East is where most boats come in, and Phra Nang is reached by a path from the east side. The cliffs are also known for rock climbing, with hundreds of routes. It was a lovely spot for a quiet evening watching the sun drop behind the limestone karsts.
Good to know
- Getting there: longtails from Ao Nang take 10 to 15 minutes and cost about 100 baht each way. Expect to wade ashore with your bags.
