Artisanal Chocolate and City Exploration

Day 2 in Zurich: moving to the Crowne Plaza, an afternoon at the Lindt chocolate factory and tapas at Iberia Tapas with our new tour group.

Next morning we moved to the Crowne Plaza Zurich, and once again the SBB lockers at the main station looked after our bags while we got on with the day. A short tram ride took us to Albisriederplatz, a few minutes’ walk from the new hotel.

The afternoon went on the Lindt Home of Chocolate at Kilchberg, just outside the city, where we learned about the history of chocolate making and tasted plenty of it along the way. The chocolate fountain in the entrance hall stands more than nine metres tall.

In the evening we met our tour group for the first time over Spanish tapas at Iberia Tapas. It was the start of some good friendships.

Good to know

  • Lindt Home of Chocolate: open daily from 10am to 7pm, last museum entry 5.30pm. Adults pay CHF 17. The chocolate fountain in the hall is over nine metres tall. Lindt
  • Getting there: it’s at Kilchberg, just outside the city. Take bus 165 from Bürkliplatz, the S8 or S24 train to Kilchberg, or the boat. You need a ticket for zone 150 as well as the city zone. Lindt

We checked these details in October 2026. Times, prices and rules do change, so it’s worth a quick look at the official sites before you go.
